Impermanence and Interbeing

(download)

A guided meditation from Thich Nhat Hanh's book Touching the Earth, read by one of his students.

In this meditation, we have the opportunity to see the impermanent nature of all things. We have the tendency to think we are the same person we were yesterday, but this is not true.

The day has now ended.
Our lives are shorter.
Now we look carefully.
What have we done?
Noble sangha, with all our heart,
let us be diligent,
engaging in the practice.
Let us live deeply,
free from afflictions,
aware of impermanence
so that life does not
drift away without meaning.

Please listen to the main reading, either standing and prostrating. This is followed by a small bell sound is made, rise and listen to the short verse before touching the earth again. If you would like to receive this podcast regularly in iTunes, you can subscribe using iTunes.
